Kraig R. Naasz, president and ceo of the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI), has been reappointed to serve on the US Chamber of Commerce Association Committee of 100 (C-100), while Dr. Maia Jack, director of regulatory and international affairs for the Alexandria, Virginia-headquartered trade association, has been tapped to represent the frozen food industry on two federal trade advisory committees.
Founded in 1958, the C-100 is comprised of the nation’s leading association chief executives and serves as the primary policy-originating body for the US Chamber of Commerce. The committee also enhances the Chamber’s lobbying and coalition efforts, and works to expand its outreach to the business and trade association communities.
The C-100 meets twice a year, typically in June and December, and is currently chaired by American Beverage Association President and CEO Susan Neely.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jack has been invited by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Office of the US Trade Representative to serve as a member of the Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee (ATAC) for trade in processed foods. Additionally, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) and USTR have selected her to serve as a member of the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on standards and Technical Trade Barriers (ITAC 16).
Jack will offer advice and make recommendations on a variety of US trade policy matters important to frozen food makers and distributors, ranging from international commerce issues. The range from trade barriers and trade agreement negotiations to implementation of existing agreements.
