Day-Lee Foods, Inc., a Santa Fe Springs, California-based supplier of Asian frozen foods to foodservice and general consumer markets for more than 30 years, will introduce a line extension to its retail portfolio of entrées in April called Crazy Cuizine International. The range, weighing in at between 567- and 624-grams per package, features three new flavors, each with a vegetable, rice or noodle component: Beijing Broccoli Beef (accented with a mildly spicy Chinese-inspired Hoisin sauce), Chicken Tikka Masala (Indian/Southwest Asian), and Garlic Chicken & Noodles (Chinese/Vietnamese).
“We’ve seen an increased demand from consumers for bolder flavors, healthier ingredient profiles, and more high quality ethnic entrees,” said David Weinberg, marketing director at Day-Lee Foods. “These first three International Favorites deliver well-known Asian entrees kicked up a notch with restaurant-quality flavors. They’re a real viable alternative to takeout. We’re also adding hearty vegetables or grains to every dish in the line, so each offers a complete meal solution for busy families and individuals on-the-go.”
With steamed chicken or lightly breaded beef, plus lighter sauces, Crazy Cuizine’s culinary creations boast not only robust flavors and premium ingredients, but over time will expand beyond traditional Asian foods to more international and regional cuisines as well. Like all Crazy Cuizine fare, the new entrées have no added MSG or trans fats, and are ready after just minutes of preparation. Each International Favorites offering may be enjoyed as a complete meal or portioned to serve as a side dish or starter.
The existing Crazy Cuizine line of convenient family meals includes a variety of Asian signature flavors ranging from Mandarin Orange Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken and Sweet-Chili Chicken to Korean BBQ Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken and both Chicken and Pork Potstickers. They are available at leading grocery chains in the United States, including Albertson’s, Safeway, Vons, Ralphs, Food for Less, Raley’s, SaveMart, Lucky Supermarkets, Jewel and many others.
