Omaha Steaks has added three Steak-Cut Bacon products to its line of bacon offerings, which includes pre-cooked bacon, bacon-wrapped filet mignons, pepper-bacon wrapped filets, bacon-wrapped pork chops and jumbo bacon-wrapped scallops. Distributed in frozen form, the new items come in three flavors: Applewood Smoked, Peppered Country and Cajun.
Steak-Cut bacon is the thickest bacon available; each pack contains eight slices of premium pork that weigh two ounces each. The expansion of Omaha Steaks’ bacon range comes in response to requests from customers for additional options for breakfasts, BLTs, burgers and other menu items and dining occasions.
According to BaconToday.com, the average American eats 17.9 pounds of bacon per year. Seventy percent is consumed at breakfast, 17% during dinner, 11% at lunch and 2% as snacks.
