Bochum, Germany-headquartered GEA Refrigeration Technologies will introduce the new S-Tec range of spiral freezers and coolers at the March 24-27 Anuga FoodTec international trade fair for the food and beverage industry in Cologne. Units are available as single- and twin-drum versions in a wide range of infeed and exit configurations. Offering exceptionally high standards of hygiene, the spirals can be matched to all food freezing or cooling requirements from 500 to 7,000 kg per hour.
A prime example of how mechanical engineering and control technology can effectively complement each other when it comes to efficiency, reliability, and low total cost of ownership is the combination of the GEA Grasso M screw compressor package with the new GEA Omni™ control system. Offering maximum cooling duty of 860 kW (at 4,500 rpm) and making do with a very small footprint, the compressor is efficient and rugged, yet modest when it comes to maintenance requirements.
The control system contributes additionally to low total cost of ownership and high levels of availability – not least by promoting modest power requirements and stable plant operations. A key feature of the GEA Omni™ is its high-definition touch screen (color display with 1,366 x 768 pixels), which is intuitively operated with single-finger and multi-touch actions. The system can likewise control other compressors – and even complete refrigeration facilities – and is also able to integrate components from other manufacturers.
In addition, the company will showcase the GEA Geneglace G100 ice generator, equipped with stainless steel components and offering a daily capacity of up to 2,500 kg of hygienic flake ice.
The GEA Refrigeration Technologies team and its equipment may be seen in action at Stand A080-E089 in Hall 9.1.
