Kontos Foods, Inc., a Patterson, New Jersey, USA-based manufacturer and distributor of traditional Greek and Mediterranean foods, will be showcasing its full line of frozen flatbreads, fillo doughs and related pastries at the Anuga fair in Cologne, Germany, from October 10-14.
Visitors to its booth in the USA Pavilion (No. C-49 in Hall 4.2) will see over 50 varieties of flatbreads, including the top-selling Pocket-Less Pita, Greek Lifestyle Flatbread, Gyro breads, Grilled Panini breads, various Nan breads, and other ethnic flatbreads. All-natural French-style Crepes will also be on display.
What’s more, Kontos fillo dough of varying thicknesses will be spotlighted, as well as Kataifi dough (finely spun strands of dough that add golden crunch to seafood and dessert dishes). Attendees will be able to sample a number of products, including ready-made baklava and nut roll pastries.
“Europe is an exciting market for us, with restaurants and consumers who are excited about the idea of bread as the basis of delicious appetizers, sandwiches and entrees,” said Vice President Steve Kontos. “Chefs and home cooks both appreciate the creativity of our breads and wraps – with flavors such as spinach, pesto, roasted red pepper, jalapeño and cilantro, onion, and sun-dried tomato basil. In the European market, we also find that consumers value our wholesome ingredients, including white and whole wheat flour, flax, olive oil, and fresh herbs.”
