Schwan’s Consumer Brands, Inc. has introduced a range of three frozen Freschetta Artisan Crust Pizzas to supermarkets and other retail grocery stores across the USA. Each features tasty toppings, a sauce made with three sun-ripened tomatoes, and 100% real provolone and mozzarella cheeses, on a preservative-free whole grain crust that rises while being baked in home ovens.
The 695-gram products, selling at a suggested retail price of $7.49, are offered in four varieties including Four Cheese, Pepperoni, Margherita and Chicken & Fire Roasted Vegetable. All have a 51 percent multigrain crust made with a blend of three whole grains – whole wheat, brown rice and oat flour – kneaded into the dough for a slightly sweet, hearty texture that serves up 21 grams of whole-grain per slice.
Freschetta Artisan Crust Pizza delivers on the growing desire for foods made with whole grains. According to the International Food Information Council Foundation, 75 percent of American shoppers are keen on buying more whole grains, and 67 percent say whole grains are the most important item they look for on packages.
“With this new Freschetta Artisan Crust Pizza we’ve combined the wholesomeness that today’s consumers want with a mix of traditional and more unique ingredients that offer a whole new flavor level,” said Sishir Sekaran, brand manager. “This is artisan pizza in every sense of the word.”
