The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) has hired Jeremy Woodrow as its new communications director. A longtime Juneau resident from a commercial fishing family, he brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the job as well as communications expertise.
Woodrow most recently served as communications officer for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, where he led all internal and external communications operations and significantly enhanced social media activities. He has previously worked with ASMI both as an intern in the communications program and with its former PR agency, Schiedermayer & Associates Alaska. Woodrow has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising from Northern Arizona University.
“As ASMI communications director I will build upon the success of my predecessors and deliver meaningful results directly tied to Alaska Seafood’s local, national and global campaigns. As a lifelong Alaskan, it is an honor to have the opportunity to dedicate myself to sharing Alaska Seafood’s amazing story,” he said.
Woodrow will oversee ASMI’s communications program out of its Juneau headquarters. The operation targets national and international consumers as well as in-state audiences with information about the value of Alaska seafood.
ASMI is a public-private partnership between the state government and the Alaska seafood industry established to foster economic development of a renewable natural resource. It plays a key role on positioning Alaska’s seafood sector as a competitive market-driven food production industry and premium global brand.
