Atlanta, Georgia, USA-headquartered Americold has purchased a second cold storage warehouse in San Antonio, Texas, for an undisclosed price. Operated as a food distribution center, the building is currently is under a long-term lease to a retail client.
“We’re always looking for strategic opportunities to enhance our network, and the location of this facility, close to the I-35, I-10, and I-410 interchanges, is ideal,” said Fred Boehler, the company’s president and chief executive officer.
The building was sold by Stream Realty Partners, represented by HFF. With a footprint of more than 384,000 square feet on a 26-acre site, the facility has three temperature-controlled rooms that can accommodate frozen, refrigerated, and air conditioned dry space. The warehouse, featuring twin docks that offer cold and air-conditioned operations for 57 dock doors, includes almost 42,000 square feet of office space.
