Vepura GmbH has done it again. For the second time in succession the Köln-based company has won the Anuga Taste Innovation Award – this time for its Bombay Street Snacks plate of vegetarian finger food. The small, fine delicacies with robust Indian flavor and aromatic spices are typical of what one will find offered by street vendors in Bombay.
Two years ago Vepura took the top prize for a line of four frozen meat-free ready meals that include Chana Masala, Dum Aloo Kashmire, Sabji Kofta Curry and Saby Miloni Harizali.
The jury judging the 2017 competition was impressed with the authentic Indian flavor found in 420-gram Bombay Street Snacks retail packs. Each contains 16 pieces of Cocktail Samosa pastry with mildly spiced potato and pea filling, Dosa Balls of potato in crispy lentil-rice dough crust, Onion Pakora and Veggie Nuggets. Two flavors of chutney sauce are included for dipping.
“We are very proud of this award. For us, this is proof that the flavors and taste of the Indian dishes are finding more and more enthusiastic followers in Germany,” said the founders Manoj Jain and Andreas Siebert.
Vepura products are 100% natural, freshly prepared, portioned and immediately frozen. No preservatives or other additives are used in the expanding recipe dish assortment, which includes Paneer Tikka Msaala, Malai Kofta Curry and Punjabi Samoa. Also offered are Tandoori Naan in plain and garlic flavors. All products are marked with the V-label.
