San Ramon, California-headquartered Raybern’s has introduced six heat-and-serve grilled cheese sandwiches that are now available in the frozen food aisles of Walmart stores and rolling out to other retail outlets in the USA. Selling at a suggested price of $5.98 per two-unit box, the classic deli flavors are: 3 Amigos, The Scapegoat, The BMC, Stay Cheesy!, Mr. Italiano and Let There Be Pork.
“We’re excited to expand our product line to bring an unexpected twist on the classic grilled cheese. By introducing food truck-worthy flavors with playful names, we are continuing to uphold our reputation for quality and flavorful sandwich creations that pack an innovative punch,” said Marissa Gomes, senior director of marketing for Raybern Frozen Foods, a subsidiary of Premium Brands Holding Corp.
Studies show consumers are often faced with a lack of time that forces them to choose convenience over quality. With this in mind, Raybern’s has “co-developed a special packaging design that “toasts up” the bread within microwave ovens in minutes.” Its creative recipes and buttery grilled breads give the line of Grilled Melts a fresh-off-the-griddle taste, which is said to be “unprecedented among the heat-and-enjoy meal category.”
About the Company
Raybern’s was founded in 1978 by two guys named Ray and Bernie who were dedicated to bring authentic New York-style deli sandwiches to supermarket freezer cases and cabinets. It took them years to fully develop a bread recipe that “cooks up bakery soft” right from the microwave oven, as well as perfect the company’s signature Philly Cheesesteak and Pastrami recipes. Nowadays Raybern’s makes millions of sandwiches a year at a food manufacturing facility in Mississippi, including the best-selling frozen Philly Cheesesteak in America, according to 2017 Nielsen Scan Data.
