On-demand delivery service Postmates and the Long John Silver’s (LJS) restaurant chain are partnering to bring seafood dishes directly to the American consumer’s doorstep. With nearly 800 LJS locations in the United States, customers across the country can now have their favorite seafood meals delivered using Postmates nationwide.
Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom the Saucy Fish Co. has enlisted the services of Ocado Zoom to rush its seafood fares to online customers in certain West London postcode areas within 60 minutes or less after placing orders.
In the US, Christopher Caudill, vice president of marketing at Long John Silver’s, stated: “We are committed to making the unique seafood experience from the coasts accessible to everyone, whether they’re coming aboard to dine in one of our restaurants or enjoying our food at home. Partnering with Postmates helps us bring menu items like our new grilled salmon and grilled shrimp tacos and rice bowls, our classic wild-caught Alaska Pollock and tender chicken planks, and other favorites like hand-battered shrimp and crispy Atlantic surf clams to customers everywhere.”
San Francisco-headquartered Postmates is regarded as the North American leader in offering the most choices in on-demand delivery from more than 500,000 restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, as well as traditional retailers. The company now operates in more than 3,500 cities and has added some of the most sought-after local and national restaurants, serving 75 of the top 100 restaurants in the United States.
Saucy Offers Special Deal
The Grimsby, England-based Saucy Fish Co. is a major supplier of frozen and chilled seafood to British retailers. Among its products now available on Ocado Zoom are Salmon with Chilli, Lime and Ginger Dressing, Smoked Haddock with Cheddar and Chive Sauce, Sea Bass with Beurre Blanc Sauce, two ready-to-at salmon products and two fishcakes. In celebrating the launch, a special 2 for £7 deal is being offered through October 10.
“We know our consumers regularly look for dinner options that offer convenience and taste, something different from the usual bland midweek meal,” said Amanda Webb, Saucy’s sales and marketing director. “Our latest partnership with the innovative Ocado Zoom delivery service means mid-week meals don’t have to be boring again. Bold flavors and a tasty fish dish can be on the doorstep in 60 minutes and then on people’s plates in a flash. It’s great news for those who don’t always have the time to shop or are looking for a quick and easy meal solution.”
With a minimum spend of just £15, delivery for under £2.50 and a choice of over 10,000 products – all delivered within an hour – Zoom hopes to change the way West London residents shop.
The new partnership is being supported by marketing activity from both Saucy and Ocado Zoom. This activity includes a geo-targeted paid media and paid social campaign aimed at those living within selected postcodes, a social competition and a Saucy Fish Co. logo takeover that will see the brand transform into “The Zoomy Fish Co.” during the campaign period.
