Visitors to the Ardo stand (#E11 in Hall 4.2) at the Anuga exhibition in Cologne October 5-9 will be able to sample a wide assortment of “glocal vegetables with a twist,” including Veggie Mix Nordic Style, Veggie Paella and Veggie Mix Indian Style. Such “mindfoodness” offerings provide consumers with a balanced blend of at least 50% vegetables, a maximum of 30% carbohydrates and “100% authentic, home-made flavor,” points out the Ardooie, Belgium-headquartered producer.
Veggie Mix Nordic Style features a Scandinavian recipe containing barley, spinach, green beans, peas, leeks and edamame soybeans. Its finishing touch is zesty lime dill sauce.
Ardo’s kitchen crew in Valencia created Veggie Paella, a variation on the classic dish that boasts traditional round-grained rice combined with grilled yellow and red peppers, peas, onion, romano and cannellini beans with authentic paella sauce.
Veggie Mix Indian Style serves up lentils with spinach, cauliflower, rice, butternut squash and chickpeas. The dish is made complete with classic spicy coconut curry sauce.
On the Italian flavor menu are Pasta Gobbetti and Grill Mix la Siciliana. The pasta dish features little elbows that can be eaten with a spoon or fork, making them convenient for take-away dishes, soups, salads or one-pot meals.
The Siciliana is a grill mix accented with color and loaded with flavor. Its ingredients include yellow and green zucchini, grilled peppers and oven-dried marinated tomatoes. The product is presented as “great as antipasti, in a salad or as a side dish to accompany fish, meat, pasta or veggies.”
Also being promoted at Anuga are Tricolore Vegetable Fries (made individually from carrot, parsnip and beetroot) from the Les Tapas range, and Organic Sweet Potatoes, Sliced Mixed Peppers Organic and Sliced Onions Organic.
