With the number of Japanese eateries rising by 67% in Britain over the past year, Wrexham, UK-based frozen poultry distributor Meadow Vale Foods has launched two new Japanese-style chicken products to meet increased demand.
Karaage Chicken Bites are breast fillet pieces marinated in soy sauce, ginger and garlic prior to being enrobed in a crunchy coating. The second offering, Katsu Chicken Fillet, features chicken breast fillets in panko breadcrumb and accented with authentic Japanese flavors.
The fully cooked, hand-cut whole muscle fillets are individually quick frozen to enable restaurant operators as well as cooks at home to eliminate food waste. One takes only what is needed from the freezer and prepares it straight away in a fryer or oven.
In the current coronavirus crisis environment in which lockdowns are gradually being relaxed across Britain, demand for home delivery remains strong and click and collect ordering continues to grow. With more food outlets opening, Meadow Vale Foods Development Chef Chris Moyes has put together a selection of menu ideas demonstrating versatility of many of the company’s more than 90 product lines.
