Pittsburg, California-based Ramar Foods has added cocktail size pork and chicken lumpia to its growing frozen food product line. The new resealable retail packs are now available in Asian grocery stores in the United States under the Magnolia brand name.
Lumpia is a traditional Filipino egg roll typically served as a fried appetizer or side dish with sweet chili sauce. It is commonly made out of a thin lumpia wrapper surrounding savory meats and vegetable.
“Our tagline for Magnolia is ‘Finding Your Way Home,’ and most Filipino-Americans, like myself, have memories tied to lumpia – whether it being from family gatherings or cooking it with grandparents,” said Lorna Dansalan-Collazos, Ramar Foods’ marketing supervisor. “We are now giving consumers more options on how to cook the Magnolia Lumpia by including air frying instructions on the packaging.”
Founded in 1969, family-owned Ramar Foods’ ongoing mission is to bring the flavors of the Philippines to households throughout North America. During the past half century its extensive frozen product line has grown to include favorites ranging from shumai and siopao dumplings to chicken inasal, stir-fried pork, BBQ skewed and wide assortment of Manila Gold ingredients and Magnolia ice cream.
