Asker, Norway-headquartered Tomra Systems ASA has announced that Tove Andersen is set to replace Stefan Ranstrand, its current president and chief executive officer, by November 1 at the latest. Tove will joins the company from global agricultural products and environmental protection agents provider Yara International, where she is currently executive vice president for Europe.
“I’ve seen the great work that Tomra is doing to enable the circular economy while also ensuring resource responsibility and minimizing waste across the food, recycling and mining industries,” said Tove (pictured above). “It is really motivating to be joining the company to lead the resource revolution.”
Tomra, which designs and manufactures sensor-based sorting machines and integrated post-harvest solutions for the food industry, was founded in 1972 as a manufacturing and marketer of reverse vending machines (RVMs) for automated collection of used beverage containers.
Today the company provides technology-led solutions that enable the circular economy with advanced collection and sorting systems that optimize resource recovery and minimize waste in the food, recycling and, mining industries and is committed to building a more sustainable future.
Ranstrand, who has been its president and chief executive officer since 2009, stated: “I am thrilled to welcome Tove Andersen as the company’s new leader. She has vast international experience working for Yara, a company like Tomra that has sustainability at the core of its strategy.”
Tomra has made approximately 100,000 installations in over 80 markets worldwide, and had total revenues of EUR 990 million in 2020.
