Innovate Foods is reinventing with its ‘Now This Is Cheesy!’ brand, which brings together the delights of cheese in handy and practical finger food formats.
“We want to offer our customers cheesy snacks that deliver the complete taste of cheese,” said Tony Dumbreck, managing director of the Kirkcaldy, Scotland based unit of the Reitberg, Germany-headquartered Frostkkrone Food Group. “Anybody who enjoys cheese is going to love ‘Now This Is Cheesy!’ selections.”
Four flavors have been brought to the market. Each one goes straight from the freezer into the oven, and is also suitable for the fryer.
Cheese ‘O’s (seen above) are cheese and onion rings made from creamy Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheese with finely chopped red onions wrapped in a crispy breaded coating. After 10 minutes in the oven they are ready to plate.
Halloumi Fries (pictured below) are sticks are made of Cypriot halloumi cheese, wrapped in a crispy golden batter, tempura-style. They are ready to serve after 14 minutes of oven preparation.
Mozzarella Sticks feature melt-in-the-mouth mozzarella cheese wrapped in a crispy coating of breadcrumbs. Pop them in the oven for 13 minutes and they turn golden brown and are ready to eat.
Mac & Cheese Bites are described as creamy, ‘cheeselicious’ macaroni enveloped in a crispy breading with rice flakes.
The products are available now in Great Britain from Ocado and also in several European countries in the food retail trade. Innovate Foods is planning to extend the range of this brand by adding vegan options within the next few months.
