Real Good Foods, a health and wellness focused frozen breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack products provider based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, has collaborated with Segundo, California-headquartered Beyond Meat for its latest launch – Beyond Meat Pizza. The grain-free, high-protein offering is made with plant-based sausage and formulated to be higher in protein and lower in carbohydrates than conventional frozen pizzas.
Distributed in 13.5 oz packs and now available at Kroger retail stores throughout the United States, the product features mozzarella cheese, pizza sauce and meat-free sausage topped onto a crust made with avocado, broccoli and almonds. The carbohydrate level per serving is just seven grams, while protein weighs in at 17 grams.
“We are proud to further our partnership with Kroger by launching an innovative, nutrient-dense pizza made with Beyond Meat’s plant-based sausage,” said Bryan Freeman, executive chairman of Real Good Foods. “Our development process was guided by feedback from our community, which is seeking more plant-based or vegetarian options, and we could not be more excited to partner with the category leader in plant-based proteins.”
According to research from the Plant Based Foods Association and The Good Food Institute, plant-based retail food sales jumped 27% in the United States in 2020.
Founded in 2016, Real Good Foods’ expanding product line is in stock at over 16,000 stores nationwide, including Walmart, Costco and Target, in addition to Kroger.
