Real Good Foods Highlights Real Good Retail Sector Sales Growth

The Real Good Food Co., a health- and wellness-focused frozen food producer, has released US SPINS retail scanner data for the most recent four-week period ending November 28, 2021 (excluding Costco). The figures reflect tracking of dollar sales in the food, drug and mass retail channel, which has historically accounted for approximately 50% of the Cherry Hill, New Jersey-based company’s net turnover.

The overall frozen food category grew 7.1% over the term, while the health and wellness frozen food subcategory was up 12.6%. During the same four-week period, sales of Real Good Foods products increased 38%, compared to 29% over the twelve-week interval ending November 28, 2021.

Purchases of Real Good Foods’ core products, which include entrée and breakfast items, increased a whopping 109% over the period. Brand velocities grew 82%, and base dollar sales velocities increased 69%.

Additionally, notable recent retail channel distribution expansion for the company’s branded products includes: Walmart in November (breakfast sandwiches and stuffed chicken); Lidl in December (breakfast sandwiches); Sam’s Club in December (stuffed chicken and entrées); and Kroger in January (stuffed chicken bites).

Founded in 2016 in California, Real Good Foods Co. products are available in over 16,000 stores in the United States, including Costco and Target.
