Halo Top is expanding its range of fruity frozen desserts with soon to be launched Fruit Sorbet pints, which will be the Le Mars, Iowa-based Wells Enterprises brand’s first sorbet option. Featuring real fruit and fruit juice, made with less sugar and containing fewer calories than leading sorbet brands, the assortment includes Raspberry, Mango and Strawberry flavors. Priced at $4.79 per pint, they will be on the shelves of retail stores throughout the USA beginning in May.
Coming from a wide portfolio of better-for-you frozen treats, Halo Top Fruit Sorbets are vegan certified, gluten-free desserts that contain at least 50% less sugar than leading fruit sorbets in the frozen aisle and start at just 260 calories per pint.
“We’re always looking for ways to create new products for dessert lovers. Customers told us they craved more frozen fruit offerings, but they didn’t want the high sugar content of the fruit sorbets on shelves today,” said Pete Gargula, brand manager. “Following the release of Fruit Pops last year, our Fruit Sorbets allow fans to treat themselves to a refreshing, delicious dessert they can feel good about eating.”
Established in 2011, Halo Top was acquired by Wells Enterprises in September of 2019. Wells is the largest privately held, family-owned ice cream manufacturer in the United States. Founded in 1913, the company today employs over 4,000 people and produces more than 200 million gallons of ice cream per year at manufacturing plants in Iowa, Nevada and New York. In addition to Halo Top, its brands include Blue Bunny, Bomb Pop and Blue Ribbon Classics.
