Real Good Food Co., a Cherry Hill, New Jersey-headquartered health- and wellness-focused frozen food maker and marketer, has opened a state-of-the-art production site in Bolingbrook, Illinois. This USDA, gluten free certified plant is its second production plant and is a critical part of growth plans. The facility is expected to more than double manufacturing capacity to keep up with rapidly growing demand, while also reducing the company’s cost structure.
The factory features high-throughput, flexible lines that will support the production of Real Good Foods’ current product range, as well as planned innovation platforms including grain-free breaded poultry and zero-sugar Asian entrees. Output will be geared up throughout 2022. At full capacity, the facility is expected to support approximately $250 million to $300 million in net sales.
Located about 30 miles outside of Chicago, Bolingbrook is regarded as an ideal location for the company’s second manufacturing site because of proximity to raw materials and distribution hubs.
“Opening the Bolingbrook facility within six months of signing the lease demonstrates the speed, agility, and experience of our organization. I am proud of our dedicated team and supplier partners that have worked long hours to open this plant on time and on budget,” said CEO Gerald Law.
“This is a significant milestone for the company as we build capacity and expand our reach,” commented Chairman Bryan Freeman. “Our mission is to make our craveable, nutritious comfort foods accessible to everyone across the United States and, eventually, throughout the world.”
Founded in 2016, Real Good Foods offers frozen entrees, bowls, sandwiches, pizza and snacks across breakfast, lunch and dinner occasions. The brand is available at over 16,000 stores across the USA, including Walmart, Costco, Kroger and Target, as well as online.
