There’s a new butcher in town, and his plant-based faux chicken products are now available at Costco, Walmart and Safeway stores throughout the United States. After a monumental March launch in both retail and virtual restaurants, the brand known for its Crazy Crispy Chick’n products is on a roll.
“Major chains were eager to learn about our proprietary formula of plant-based products that are virtually indistinguishable from their animal-based comparables. Once they got a chance for a taste, we had them at first bite. There are a variety of plant-based options currently on the market, but nothing that is sustainable, soy and palm oil-free, employs our unique breading system and is, above all, crazy delicious,” boasted Dave Zilko, chief executive officer of the Detroit, Michigan-based company.
In conjunction with Golden West Food Group, a manufacturer of premium products headquartered in Vernon, California, Skinny Butcher has created a product made of pea protein and a progressive vegetable fiber strain. Its combination of a tasty product and the cheeky brand personality of the Skinny Butcher has successfully attracted consumers to the point of sale.
“Our team of culinary professionals has created everything from classic favorites to trend-setting plant-based alternatives using the latest processing and cooking technologies. We are excited to share our collaboration with Skinny Butcher that showcases our continued innovation,” said Zack Levenson, chief operating officer at Golden West Food Group.
Shoppers can currently find Skinny Butcher’s Crazy Crispy Chick’n products in freezer cases and cabinets at the following retailers and locations:
• Costco – Northern California, Midwestern United States and select Utah locations
• Walmart – all US locations
• Safeway – Mid-Atlantic, Seattle and Intermountain
“We are confident that consumers will be drawn in by the butcher’s endearing wink, but especially wowed by restaurant-quality food available at their favorite stores,” concluded Zilko.
