Young’s the United Kingdom’s largest frozen seafood brand producer, has launched a new 50-gram battered cod portion for foodservice customers. Ideal for those seeking a smaller serving options, it is simple to cook and provides a valuable source of protein, vitamins and minerals.
“We’ve developed this product specifically for those looking to reduce meal sizes, understanding that some customers, such as schools and care homes, have a need for smaller meals – whether due to smaller appetites or budget requirements. The new offering has the perfect battered crunch and delicious cod filling that’s synonymous with Young’s, but now in a reduced size,” said Joel Carr, development chef at Grimsby, England-headquartered Young’s Foodservice.
With the aim of making meal planning and budgeting easier, the 50-gram portion is a versatile product that provides good plate coverage and can be paired with vegetables, jacket potatoes or even added to a wrap with salad for an appealing meal.
Established in 1805 as a whitebait business, in 1946 Young’s became the first marketer of frozen prawns in Britain. Today, in addition to prawns and cod, its assortment of products includes a wide range of fish fillets, portions, fingers and fish cakes sold under Young’s label as well Chip Shop, Gastro and King Frost sub-brands.
