Orrville, Ohio-based J.M. Smucker Co. has made home-packed lunch preparation for school kids a little easier for their parents by adding two products to its Smucker’s Uncrustables Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich line. Newly launched Turkey & Colby Jack Cheese and Uncured Ham & Cheddar Bites can go straight from the freezer to the lunchbox and be ready to eat after just two hours of thawing.
The no-prep handheld products, distributed in 171-gram boxes containing three 57-gram pouches holding two bites each,
will be available at supermarkets and other retail food stores across the United States in early October.
“Smucker’s Uncrustables have become a fan favorite,” said Chris Achenbach, the company’s director of brand strategy. “Kids and parents love the fun flavors that began with PB&J. To offer an even wider variety, we have now added tasty, wholesome meat and cheese bites that are perfect for the lunchbox.”
Noting that Smucker’s aims to generate $1 billion in annual sales of Uncrustables products over the next five years, Acgenbach added: “In addition to our focus on continued innovation, we remain committed to enhancing our production capacity to meet the incredible demand – including completing the recent expansion of our Longmont, Colorado facility and kicking off construction for the new facility we will be launching in McCalla, Alabama.”
