Conagra Brands is recalling approximately 2,717 pounds of frozen Marie Callender’s frozen Beef Shepherd’s Pie that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically clear, flexible plastic, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The 11.5 oz. products were produced at the company’s Russellville, Arkansas plant on March 1, 2023. Time stamps range between 17:45-17:56 hours. The distribution case code is 2113100032, and the establishment number “EST 233” is found next to the USDA mark of inspection on the case and above the “Best By” date of February 24, 2024 printed on the side panel of the individual SKU. These items were shipped to retail customer distribution centers in California, Colorado, Oregon and Utah, and further distributed across the United States.

While there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in home freezers. Consumers who have purchased the Marie Callender’s Beef Shepard’s Pies in question are urged not to consume them. They should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for a refund.

Persons with questions about the recall may call Conagra’s Consumer Care Hotline at +1 877-469-3783 or send an e-mail addressed to consumer.care@conagra.com. Consumers with food safety questions should call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or live chat via Ask USDA from 10 AM to 6 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) Monday through Friday.
