Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Belgium-headquartered Greenyard, a major supplier of vegetable and fruit products, on July 3 announced that Nicolas De Clercq (pictured above) will join the company as chief financial officer and member of its executive management group. He replaces Geert Peeters, who will leave Greenyard at the end of September to pursue new endeavors.
“Nicolas brings over 25 years of experience, including over a decade as a successful chief financial officer,” said Hein Deprez, Greenyard’s chief executive officer and co-founder. “He has all qualifications as a top executive and has built a proven track record over the years displaying continuous growth and leadership. We are sure that Nicolas will be fully operational in no time and directly contribute to our accelerating global journey towards pure-plant foods and healthy diets for all.”
“I am very happy to join an ambitious, stock-listed and ambitious company,” said De Clercq. “Looking at my professional journey over the last ten years at a listed company with a strong family as shareholder, the clear ambitions of Greenyard and my personal background as the son of a grower, all the pieces of the puzzle have come together for me.”
After five fruitful and intense years of collaboration, current CFO Geert Peeters decided to take a new turn in his professional career and leave Greenyard. He will transition from his role and leave the company on September 30.
Greenyard Co-CEO Marc Zwaaneveld remarked: “Together with Geert, we have worked hard in recent years to further prepare our company for the future. Based on strong foundations, we have become a stronger and more agile global leader over the past years as a stable and reliable partner in the food value chain, and Geert has directly contributed to this. In the year in which he turns fifty, Geert feels that it is a good time to look at other challenges and take on new ventures. We would like to thank him for his firm commitment and important contribution to our results in recent years.”
