That board of directors of High Liner Foods has announced that Paul Jewer has been selected to serve as the frozen seafood company’s interim chief executive officer. The appointment follows the resignation of Rod Hepponstall from the position, which was to be effective on or before January 2, 2024. As a result of Jewer’s appointment, Hepponstall left High Liner on September 15.
Jewer has served as the Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada-headquartered company’s chief financial officer since February of 2014, and will continue to oversee this function. He has more than 20 years’ experience in food companies and is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant (FCPA).
“Paul’s extensive experience and proven track record of leadership with High Liner Foods will provide stability and continuity for the organization as we continue to work through the transition process,'” said Robert Pace, chairman. “The board of directors determined that it was in the best interests of the company to put in place interim executive management that can serve as long as needed, and we are fully confident in Paul’s ability to lead the organization during this important chapter in our history.”
