Vertical Cold Storage Now Sixth Largest Operator in North America

Vertical Cold Storage, a Kansas City, Missouri-headquartered developer and operator of temperature-controlled distribution centers sponsored by real estate investment firm Platform Ventures, has moved from 15th to sixth position on the Global Cold Chain Alliance’s (GCCA) North American Top 25 List of Refrigerated Warehousing and Logistics Providers. The company now has 77,334,052 cubic feet of capacity in nine locations in the USA, and has more than 400 full-time employees on its payroll.

Ranking ahead of Vertical Cold Storage in terms of total cubic footage capacity of temperature-controlled space as of April 2024 among GCCA warehouse members are:

Lineage, 2,100,000,000; Americold Logistics 1,280,500,000; United States Cold Storage, 405,550,822; Interstate Warehousing,121,300,842; FreezPak Logistics. 115,284,820.

During the past 12 months, Vertical Cold acquired MWCold in Indiana, purchased a second facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas market, and is currently finishing the construction of its first distribution center in the Kansas City area.
