Breda, Netherlands-headquartered GoodLife Foods has signed an agreement to purchase Pure Ingredients, a major manufacturer of frozen halal food products. The combination will result in a highly complementary group producing and selling innovative frozen snacks and meal components across Europe. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and completion of the transaction is subject to legal and regulatory approvals.
Based in Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen, Germany, Pure Ingredients (Initially operating as Mekkafood) offers a broad portfolio of branded and private label products focused on halal snacks and meal components. The company serves a customer base active in ethnic supermarkets, retail and foodservice channels, mainly in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Pure Ingredients employs more than 200 people and operates two state-of-the-art production facilities in the Netherlands and a third plant in Germany. Its present owner, Wout van Eeuwijk, will remain connected to the company after the sale.
This strategic move represents an important milestone for GoodLife Foods, as it will be able to further diversify product offerings and growth opportunities and continue to provide a high level of innovation and service levels to its customers.

GoodLife Foods ranks among Europe’s largest producers of both branded and private label frozen savoury food products. It operates six production sites – four in the Netherlands and one each in Belgium and Denmark.
