Ferrero UK is heating up ice cream sales this month with the launch of its Kinder Bueno cones. Available as both single units and multipacks of four in two flavors, Kinder Bueno Classic and Kinder Bueno White, the latest addition to the ice cream category builds on the launch of Nutella Ice Cream in tubs earlier this year.
Kinder has a 60% penetration in British households, according to Circana data, with Kinder Bueno products continuing to be popular across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The filled cones segment ranks as the third largest ice cream category in the UK, accounting for 11% of the market with £163 million in sales.
The two new cones feature smooth hazelnut ice cream, a melt-in-your-mouth disc of Kinder Bueno chocolate decorated with crispy cocoa sprinkles, and a crunchy hazelnut-cocoa core, all wrapped in a crispy wafer cone with a hazelnut and cocoa tip. The multi-textured recipe has been perfected to ensure it combines the unmistakable taste of Kinder Bueno, with the refreshing, creaminess of ice cream.
“The Kinder Bueno ice cream cones first launched across Europe several years ago and have delivered an exceptional performance to date,” said Dani Hayward-Bradley, Ferrero’s regional marketing director for ice cream. What’s more, when launched in Ireland last March, Kinder Bueno ice cream cones were hailed as two of the best performing new products in the category, demonstrating the potential opportunity on offer to drive additional ice cream sales in the UK market.”
Now available in Morrisons stores nationwide, Kinder Bueno ice cream multipacks (4 x 90ml,62g) are priced at £4.95. A wider rollout in the UK grocery market planned for 2025.
