Nestlé USA has initiated a voluntary recall of a limited quantity of Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s brand frozen meals due to the potential presence of wood-like material in the products.
Triggered after consumers contacted Nestlé USA about this issue, including one potential choking incident to date, the recall is isolated to specific batches of the following items: Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli, Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and Stouffer’s Party Size Chicken Lasagna that were produced between August 2024-March 2025. These products were distributed at major retailers in the United States between September of 2024 and March of this year.
This action does not involve any other Lean Cuisine or Stouffer’s products. The producer is actively investigating the source of the wood-like material, and has taken action to address the issue. It is working with the US Food & Drug Administration and the US Department of Agriculture on the recall and cooperate with them fully.
“The quality, safety and integrity of our products remain our number one priority. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action represents to both our consumers and retail customers,” said Nestlé in a statement.
Consumers who have purchased the products in question, detailed below with identifying batch numbers and best by dates, should not prepare or eat the food. The packs should be returned to the place of purchase for a replacement or a full refund.
