Construction is under way on a 2.7 million cubic foot expansion of Henningsen Cold Storage’s facility in Portland, Oregon. Upon completion in May, it will offer 7.9 million total cubic feet of space, and over 30,000 pallet positions to the market.
Originally built in 2008, the coldstore serves as a centrally located distribution center and manufacturing support facility for companies requiring frozen and refrigerated warehousing services in the US Pacific Northwest.
With quick on/off access to Interstates 84 and 205, the warehouse complex is a conveniently located multi-temperature shipping and receiving point in the Portland metropolitan area for customers and carriers.
“We are simply staying ahead of the curve with our customer growth,” said Michael Henningsen, chairman and president. “We built the first phase of the Portland facility with expansion in mind.”
The new space will be offered within multiple rooms, featuring both frozen and refrigerated capabilities, and will add another 13,000 pallet positions for product storage. The site was pad-ready for the expansion, thus enabling the project to be completed very quickly.
Headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, Henningsen is a major provider of full service, multi-temperature warehousing and logistics services. The company, which specializes in frozen and refrigerated warehousing and transportation management, offers a wide variety of 3PL services throughout its US network of facilities in Idaho, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington.
