Atlanta, Georgia-headquartered Americold, the world’s largest supplier of temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics services to the food industry, has hired Andrea Darweesh as executive vice president and chief human resources officer.
She will lead the company’s human resources department and be responsible for related policy implementation, talent management and succession planning, compensation development, employee relations, and mentoring the human resources organization.
Darweesh brings more than 20 years of executive-level human resources experience to Americold, having previously served in senior roles with Equifax, Nordstrom and Coca Cola, and most recently serving as executive vice president and chief human resources officer with The Weather Channel.
She graduated from Texas Tech University with a double major Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science, and holds an MBA in Organizational Development from Emory University.
Americold owns and operates over 165 temperature-controlled warehouses with more than 1 billion cubic feet of storage capacity in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina and Canada. Its facilities are an integral component of the supply chain connecting food producers, processors, distributors, and retailers to consumers. The company serves more than 2,000 customers and employs approximately 11,000 people.
