Tippmann Group and Interstate Warehousing have announced that a third Interstate Warehousing facility in the United States has achieved Level 2 Safe Quality Foods (SQF) status. The Interstate Warehousing Indianapolis (IWI) cold storage operation in Franklin, Indiana, which earned SQF certification on May 29, 2014, joins Interstate facilities in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Cincinnati, Ohio as SQF Level 2 certification achievers.
“The Interstate Warehousing operation in Franklin is the largest facility in our network, and is an integral part of the supply chain in the US food industry,” said John Tippmann, Jr., Tippmann group president. “Achieving this certification is just one way for us to strengthen relationships with our customers by showing that food safety is a top priority. The group of employees and management we have at this facility rank among the best in the business.”
Since the IWI Franklin facility was built in 2005 it has seen three expansions: in 2008, 2010 and 2012. The warehouse has storage capacity of just under 20 million cubic feet of frozen and refrigerated storage space, offering customers more than 76,000 pallet positions to place their products.
