Schne-frost has introduced two new frozen products for the vegetarian market under its Avita brand. The Löningen, Germany-headquartered company’s cream-filled crispy Vegetable Pockets and meatless Vegetable Köttbullar in 330-gram retail packs and 1,000-gram bags are intended to add more variety for consumers seeking non-meat dishes that are convenient to prepare.
A crispy coating made of potatoes and vegetables surrounding a cream cheese and savory garden vegetable filling combine to turn the Vegetable Pockets into a real meal. Whether enjoyed with a fruity dip or alongside oven-baked vegetables, they can be plated in a variety of ways. Preparation is quick and easy using a combi-steamer, oven or deep fryer.
A vegetarian variant of the Swedish Meatball, Vegetable Köttbullar features peas, corn, paprika, green cabbage and onions seasoned with hearty spices. The small veggie balls may be offered as a side dish served with vegetable risotto, as well as a snack accented with various flavors of dips.
Rustico Frites Make the Scene
Just in time for the kick-off of the autumn potato season, Schne-frost is debuting skin-on Rustico Frites. The irregularly shaped product has a natural appearance and can be prepared in a combi-steamer without adding fat. The potatoes may accompany hamburgers, traditional steak meals and other main course proteins, or simply enjoyed as a snack served with mayonnaise or ketchup.
Meanwhile, Mini Rösti Cheese Cubes will soon join the Schne-Frost finger food range of products. Consisting of freshly grated premium quality potatoes, cheese and spices, they fit well as a crispy topping for salad or as a tapas snack.
Schne-frost and Avita products are made by Ernst Schnetkamp GmbH & Co. KG at its state-of-the-art processing plant equipped with 12 production lines.
