Clifton, New Jersey-based Bahar LLC is recalling approximately 2,344 pounds of frozen, raw beef dumplings that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on September 5.
The products, produced from May 2, 2018 to August 29, 2018, were described as follows:
- Various weight sealed plastic packages containing Bahar Manti Gourmet Mediterranean brand beef dumplings bearing expiration dates of May 20 through August 29, 2019.
- 1-lb. square plastic sealed packages of the branded beef dumplings with the same expiration dates as noted above.
The products, which were shipped to distributors and retail locations in New Jersey, bear establishment number “EST. 51290” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered by FSIS during a review at the production plant. Thus far there have been no confirmed cases of adverse reactions due to consumption. Persons who have purchased these products should throw them away or return the packs to retailers for a refund.
