Miami, Florida-headquartered Bonamar Corporation, a seafood distributor serving retail, wholesale and foodservice clients across the USA, has purchased Brea, California-based International Pacific Seafoods (IPS). Terms of the transaction, which includes a 20,000-square-foot processing plant and freezer facilities, were not disclosed.
In business for almost 43 years, IPS imports and processes a wide variety of frozen seafood ranging from ahi tuna and mahi-mahi to wahoo/ono, salmon, swordfish, halibut, albacore, cod, pollock and calamari. It specializes in supplying chef-ready portions, steaks and loins to the foodservice sector.
Bonamar is engaged in importing and distributing premium crabmeat and finfish, as well as offering value-added products such as Bo Jackson Signature 34 Sideliners. The appetizer and entrée line includes salmon, shrimp and ahi tuna burgers.
In addition to expanding its portfolio, bringing International Pacific Seafoods into the fold provides Bonamar with an enhanced sales support team and more competitive freight logistics operation.
“We are committed as an organization to continually challenge ourselves to innovate, bring value to the marketplace through technology and synergy with intense drive and passion for excellence,” said Dr. Argenis Contreras, founder and chief executive officer of Bonamar Corp.
