Garner, North Carolina, USA-headquartered Butterball Foodservice is catering to increasing demand for healthful menu options by launching new four-ounce turkey breast filets that are low in fat, calories and sodium. Furthermore, they contain no trans fat or MSG.
Created with the needs of chefs and operators in mind, the filets offer multiple menu possibilities ranging from sandwiches and salads to grilled dishes and main meals such as Masala with roasted curry vegetables.
According to a recent study by Technomic, diners’ interest in health in the USA is steadily increasing, with 64% of those surveyed agreeing that paying attention to nutrition is important. Additionally, nearly half of consumers prefer turkey to beef because it is perceived to be healthier, and 71% view turkey as a more nutritious alternative to pork.
The filets, which may be cooked from frozen with no thawing necessary for freezer-to-grill convenience, are individually packed in easy-peel film. This facilitates one-at-a-time usage.
“It is our ongoing commitment to introduce new, on-trend products that chefs and operators can easily incorporate into their menu,” said Richie Jenkins, director of marketing for Butterball Foodservice. “The four-ounce turkey breast filets are just the right size to serve as a delicious and nutritious canvas for any flavor profile.”
Butterball Foodservice is a division of Butterball LLC, the world’s largest vertically integrated turkey processor.
