Captain D’s, a popular fast-casual seafood restaurant chain in the United States, has taken the next major step in its global expansion strategy by signing a 20-unit multi-unit franchise agreement for the United Kingdom with an experienced team of operators. The first restaurant will open in the London area later thi year.
This development marks Captain D’s first venture overseas and its second international development agreement, following the recent announcement of its Canadian expansion in Toronto. By entering the UK, Nashville, Tennessee-headquartered Captain D’s is advancing its vision to become a global brand while providing its franchisees abroad with the structure and support needed for sustainable success.

This is just the beginning of our expansion of Captain D’s quality seafood and hospitality to seafood lovers around the world.”

Founded in 1969, more than 530 Captain D’s restaurants operate today in 23 states south of the Canadian border. A wide variety of seafood is on the menu, including signature batter dipped fish, clam strips and grilled shrimp, tilapia and salmon meals. Among side dishes are hushpuppies, french fries, baked potatoes, coleslaw, green beans, broccoli, fried okra and corn on the cob. Dessert items, including cheesecake and funnel cake stix are also offered.
