Northamptonshire, England-based frozen food distributor Central Foods has unveiled Menuserve Strawberry and Prosecco Meringue Roulade, promoted as ideal for serving during the Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations as well as traditional annual summer events such as Wimbledon and the Henley Regatta.
Featuring a classic British combination of strawberries and cream, the hand-rolled roulade is made of pink strawberry flavored meringue, which is filled with fresh whipped dairy cream accented with Prosecco, and a home-made strawberry compôte.
The sweet treat is finished with an eye-catching, velvety dusting of dried raspberry pieces to create a dessert that’s suitable for vegetarians and gluten-free customers too.
“Our range of Menuserve meringue roulades is very popular with foodservice customers, and I am excited that we are launching a traditional British flavor combination with our new Strawberry and Prosecco Roulade,” said Central Foods Managing Director Gordon Lauder. “This is also good news for operators who have one eye on their Christmas menus, as we feel sure that the product’s festive red topping will also make it a Yuletide favorite.”
The new flavor joins a range of meringue roulades offered by Central Foods including Black Forest, Banoffee, Cappuccino, Raspberry & Hazelnut, Raspberry & White Chocolate, and Lemon.
Each pack of the “thaw and serve” Menuserve Strawberry and Prosecco Roulade contains two roulades, with a recommended ten portions per roulade.
