CJ Logistics America announced on November 12 that it has officially opened its new cold storage warehouse in Gainesville, Georgia. The 270,000 square foot facility is located in the heartland of poultry production in the United States and offers direct access to major highways and railways, including I-985, I-85 and the Norfolk Southern railway system. It is also adjacent to the future Northeast Georgia Inland Port, providing a direct link to the Port of Savannah.
The building features Alta Expert Refrigeration Systems and QFM blast freezing, advanced cold chain technologies that ensure customers receive top-of-the-line storage services. The blast freezing system will bring products to desired temperatures in 24 hours, and there are three separate storage rooms to meet different product needs including finished goods, bakery items, and proteins. There are also 30,000 racked pallet positions along with a USDA office and inspection room on-site.
“Today’s top global businesses demand exceptional service, and that is precisely why we built this facility – to offer them the best,” said Kevin Coleman, chief executive officer of CJ Logistics America. “This distribution center, with its state-of-the-art technology and premier location, further establishes us as a top provider of cold chain solutions for leading brands.”
