St. Simons Island, Georgia, USA-based SeaPak Shrimp & Seafood Co. has added Calamari with tomato romano sauce to its easy-to-prepare frozen product line. The launch includes rollouts at Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, Tops and other select retail stores across the country.

Kristen Beadon, SeaPak’s director of marketing, described the breaded product as a category disruptor that “will provide yet another ultra convenient solution for busy consumers looking to enjoy seafood more often.”

She added: “Seafood lovers have been waiting for this for a long time. For years, our research has shown consumers are interested in convenient, restaurant-quality seafood options that they can prepare and enjoy at home, so we can’t wait for them to try our Calamari.”

SeaPak is being promoting the new offering, which sells for $8.99 per 12-ounce package, as “the perfect combination of flavor and texture, making it an obvious choice for a hassle-free appetizer or high-protein snack, especially with outdoor entertaining season now in full swing.”
