The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) has announced the release of its new video series, “Meet Your Frozen Food Maker,” available for viewing now on the Arlington, Virginia-headquartered trade association’s newly re-launched website at www.affi.org.

The series includes three videos featuring AFFI members: Allen’s Blueberry Freezer, Kahiki Foods, NORPAC Foods and Wyman’s of Maine. Each one addresses how frozen food provides convenient access to nutritious, safe and affordable food.

“Our strength is derived from the support of its member companies and we’re proud to share their stories on our new website,” said AFFI President and CEO Alison Bodor. “The future is bright for the frozen food industry and our members are on the forefront of innovation that consumers crave.”

Each video focuses on a different aspect of the frozen food industry, including:

Meet Your Frozen Fruit Maker: Allen’s and Wyman’s wild blueberries are grown almost exclusively to be individually quick frozen and sold to manufacturers or packaged and sent directly to the grocery store. This video takes a closer look at the multi-generational family-owned companies producing one of the world’s most highly demanded berries.

Meet Your Frozen Vegetable Maker: Cook Family Farms is among 200 growers for NORPAC Foods, an Oregon-based cooperative. Its broccoli, peas, cauliflower and sweet corn make their way from the fields of the lush Willamette Valley to NORPAC’s state-of-the-art processing plant in Salem, Oregon. where they are cut, cleaned, individually quick frozen to preserve nutrients, and shipped across North America.

Meet Your Asian Foods Maker: Founded in 1961 as Kahiki Supper Club, Kahiki Foods has evolved into a fast-growing food manufacturer selling frozen Asian cuisine distributed in almost 20,000 stores across the USA. The Asian frozen food category is expanding and companies such as Kahiki are on the forefront of flavor innovation, quality production and food safety.
