Made-in-Italy frozen food specialist Crosta & Mollica will be bringing free food to the street on February 9 when its striped van heads to Chapham Old Town, The Polygon to do its part to celebrate National Pizza Day in the United Kingdom. Londoners are invited to queue up starting at noontime and simply say “Pizza Pronto,” to obtain a frozen complimentary sourdough pizza to heat up at home for consumption with family and friends, or to enjoy as solo indulgence.
From household favorites such as Stromboli with Pepperoni & Spicy Salami, to Margherita featuring tomato, mozzarella cheese and Sicilian oregano, and the Verdure Pizza vegan option, a selection of generously topped Crosta & Mollica Sourdough Pizza products will be up for grabs while supplies last.
The Crosta & Mollica pizza range, which is ready to serve in under 13 minutes of oven cooking at home, is promoted as “the best supermarket option, rivaling those found in restaurants.” The recipe for each offering starts with a mixture of flour and Lievito Madre (Mother Dough) which is slow-proved for 24 hours. The pizza base is fired in a wood oven and topped by hand.
Founded in 2009, Crosta & Mollica is a certified B-Corporation. In addition to pizza, it supplies supermarkets and other grocery channels in Britain and continental Europe with other baked goods, ready meals, snacks, gelato, sorbet and more dessert products.
