Daring, a Los Angeles-based marketer of frozen plant-based faux chicken products, has engaged Dot Foods, North America’s largest food redistributor serving wholesalers and distributors. This will provide increased availability of foodservice SKUs to distributors across the USA and offer restaurants and institutions greater access to plant-based chicken menu options that look, taste and have the mouthfeel of traditional animal protein.
“When launching our business, we created the brand with a mission to eliminate chicken as a form of protein in our food systems,” said chief executive officer and co-founder Ross Mackay. “Partnering with Dot Foods allows us to rapidly propel new avenues for the brand, providing more consumer access to our signature pieces that are better for you and better for the environment.”
All products are 100% plant-based, high in protein, non-GMO and made with natural ingredients – water, soy protein concentrate, sunflower oil, flavoring and spices. Additionally, a high-moisture extrusion process is used in manufacturing to help create desired taste and texture without sacrificing nutritional value. The breaded and non-breaded offerings come in three flavors: Original, Lemon & Herb and Cajun.
