Speakers have been confirmed for the European Cold Storage & Logistics Association’s (ECSLA) 18th Cold Chain Logistics Conference & Trade Show, set for the Amsterdam Marriot Hotel on March 26 and 27. The main theme of the gathering is Everything is Going Digital! Opportunities & Challenges for the Temperature Controlled Logistics Provider.
Andrew Cosgrove, global consumer product and retail lead analyst at Ernst & Young UK, will kick off the sessions at 10 AM on March 26 with a talk about trends in the omni-channel supply chain. He will be followed at 10:30 by Gina Chung, project manager at DHL Trend Research, who will discuss implications for logistics providers.
At 11:30 Jack van der Veen, professor of supply chain management at Nyenrode Business University, will deliver a speech entitled Innovative Supply Chain Management of the Future. At 12:15 PM Jeroen van den Berg, founder of Storelink, will assume the lectern to offer advice on how to develop an efficient multi-channel strategy.
Following a break for lunch, Anouk Chavel of Global Marketing Healthcare at GS1 will talk about the global data synchronization network from 2:30-3:10 PM. Thereafter Edwin Kalischnig, chief executive officer of Xtreme Technologies, will make a presentation entitled Cyber Attacks on Warehouses – How Secure is the Data in the Cloud?
A session focusing on Solutions to Protect Data and Goods Flow will take place from 3:30-4 PM, followed by presentations from exhibitors about the latest technical developments in the cold storage industry.
Starting with a cocktail reception at 7 PM, the evening hours have been set aside exclusively for socializing and networking. A gala dinner and awards ceremony will take place from 7:30-10:30 PM.
On Friday, March 27, ECSLA Secretary General Christine Welker will provide an EU Regulatory Update from 9:30-10 AM, followed by the organization’s annual general meeting from 10:30-12:30.
Afternoon activities include a guided tour of the Rijksmuseum and a visit to the Daalimpex Velsen refrigerated warehouse. The quayside coldstore is undergoing a thorough transformation, using state-of-the-art technology in energy conservation with the goal to become the first energy-neutral facility of its kind in the Netherlands.
