Schwan’s Consumer Brands, Inc. has introduced Edwards Pumpkin Crème Pie to its frozen whole-pie lineup. The indulgent, lusciously layered thaw-and-serve product will be available at retail stores in the USA until December 31, 2014, catering to pie lovers through the autumn entertaining season and into the holidays.
“Crème pies continue to gain momentum in the supermarket, and Edwards Pumpkin Crème Pie adds flair to festivities with a modern alternative to traditional pumpkin pie,” said Susan Allen, senior director brand marketing for the Bloomington, Minnesota-headquartered company. “Taking tradition one step higher was our intent with the introduction of Edwards Pumpkin Crème Pie, the first pumpkin crème pie on the market. Crème pies continue to gain momentum in the supermarket.”
The new product starts with a vanilla-cookie crust infused with ginger and cinnamon, adds velvety layers of crème cheese and pumpkin, and is topped off with a double layer of whipped-crème rosettes. It is offered at a suggested price of $8.49.
