September is National Potato Month in USA, and Monday, the 6th is Labor Day. All the more reason, then, for Checkers and Rally’s drive-thru restaurants to host a Labor Day Fry Giveaway by serving up large orders of fries free of charge to anyone who presents a coupon from FryGiveaway.com at participating outlets across the USA.
In addition to giving away fries on the federal holiday, the chain is inviting customers to nominate the most hardworking person they know for a chance to win $100 in Checkers and Rally’s Rewards for their nominee and themselves. Nominations in the sweepstakes will be accepted through September 8.
“We are a company of hardworking people serving craveable food to hardworking people, and there’s no better day to recognize their efforts and contributions than on Labor Day,” said Frances Allen, president and chief executive officer of Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., adding that employees will be receiving gift boxes of various sweets and snacks for working on September 6.
The Tampa, Florida-headquartered chain, operates and franchises 836 Checkers and Rally’s restaurants in the United States. In recent years, the brand has earned several of the QSR industry’s most prestigious awards including “#1 Most Craveable Fries” by Restaurant Business magazine 2020 and 2018.
The Great Spud Getaway
Meanwhile, fast-casual restaurant specialist McAlister’s Deli has launched The Great Spud Getaway sweepstakes to celebrate its popular giant spuds menu featuring Idaho Russet potatoes. Customers can enter to win a four-day, three night all-expense paid trip for themselves and a guest to America’s “potato capital” in Boise, Idaho, where they will stay at the unique Big Idaho Potato Hotel. The winner will also receive a year’s supply of customized giant spuds from Atlanta, Georgia-headquartered McAlister’s Deli, which operates more than 470 restaurants in 27 states.
In partnership with the Idaho Potato Commission, an array of potato-themed and local Boise activities will be available for the winner and a companion to enjoy during their trip. Perhaps most notably, they will have the opportunity to take a ride in the
Big Idaho Potato Truck, a 72-foot semitrailer with a 4 ton larger-than-life potato on board.
“We have a community of guests who are passionate about our giant spuds,” said Danielle Parra, vice president of marketing at Atlanta, Georgia-headquartered McAlister’s Deli. “We like to call those fans our ‘Spud Buds,’ and in September we’re celebrating them through a special opportunity with The Great Spud Getaway.”
