Froneri, an ice cream manufacturing and marketing joint venture between Nestlé and R&R formed in 2016, has been exporting skilled engineering talent from Brazil as well as ice cream. Its Exportação de Talentos program, the result of a partnership with the company’s units in the United States and United Kingdom, attracts qualified personnel to work in both countries.
“Brazilian professionals are very highly evaluated for commitment to performing their duties. We are delivering highly qualified professionals to occupy positions of extreme importance in the UK and USA,” said Samara Macedo, head of human resources at Froneri Brasil.
With a talent retention rate of 80%, the first year of the program sent five professionals to work abroad in 2021. Two of them, former employees of Frioneri Brasil, went to the United States. The other three engineers were hired to fill vacancies in Britain.
In addition to engineering talent, the project aims to develop other professionals for the job market abroad. Those approved for the program will undergo training in Brazil to perform specific technical functions. They will also have the opportunity to develop soft skills such as behavior, leadership and values of Froneri Brasil.
Those participating in the program must possess a background in mechanical, automation, electrical or other related engineering fields, as well as a resume that includes factory experience. The selection process for Exportação de Talentos includes an interview with the human resources department in Rio de Janeiro, proficiency tests and technical interviews in English, and technical and practical evaluations inside the factory.
Fronerei, headquartered in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire, England, is the second largest ice cream producer in the world. It operates in more than 20 countries and employs approximately 12,500 people.
