New vegetarian and vegan offerings will be among the frozen finger food and snack products showcased by the Frostkrone Food Group at the October 7-11 Anuga International Food Industry Trade Fair in Cologne. The Reitberg, Germany-headquartered company’s crispy coated plant-based faux shrimp and calamari enhance the “Really?!!” line which serves up a large selection of cheese as well as fish, beef and chicken alternatives.
Vegan shrimp and calamari is promoted as “a real highlight for all those who like to enjoy something special without having to put a lot of effort into planning and preparation.” They are equally good as a small snack with an aperitif or as an accompaniment to salad or pasta,” according to a press release issued by the company.
Also to be in high profile at Stand C030 in Hall 4.2 will be Frostkrone’s Flavourites range, produced using technology that enables the size and weight of products to be flexibly adapted according to customer requirements. This results in a real benefit, especially for foodservice operators, as all products are of an equal size and weight and can be easily portioned and prepared.
Three examples of the variations in the Flavourites style that show-goers can see and sample at the Anuga exhibition are: Crispy Cream Cheese Jalapeños Pops, featuring a recipe that heats up just as well in one’s home oven as in a professional kitchen; Crispy Cream Cheese Paprinos Pops, boasting a sweet and spicy combination of red cherry peppers and cream cheese enveloped in a crispy coating; Crispy Nacho Cheese Jalapeños Bites, this crispy outside treat bursts with a surprise of hot jalapeños and spicy nacho cheese.
