Hain Celestial Canada is recalling Europe’s Best Field Berry Mix and 4-Field Berry Mix frozen fruit from the marketplace due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The 600-gram bags of Field Berry Mix carry the following codes: 2020MA03, 2020MA04, 2020MA10, 2020MA11 and a UPC of 8 71454 036187. Europe’s Best 4-Field Berry Mix two-kilogram bags subject to recall have a code of 2020MA02 and a UPC of 8 71454 00200 7.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) headquarters in Ottawa issued the notice on July 13, stating that the action was triggered by a recall in another country. Thus far no illnesses have been reported in relation to the berries in question, but the CFIA that advises they should not be consumed.
Meanwhile, south of the border the US Food & Drug Administration announced on July 18 that the Bells, Tennessee-headquartered Pictsweet Company has recalled 960 cases of frozen Pictsweet Farms Steam’ables Baby Brussels Sprouts because they may contain undeclared milk and soy allergens. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy may run the risk of serious allergic reaction if they consume the product.
The recall affects only Pictsweet Farms 12-ounce Baby Brussels Sprouts identified by UPC code 0 70560 97731 9 with production codes beginning with the following five digits and letter, 1508K, and a “best if used by” date of May 30, 2020.
